Over the next month, we will be working on creating a parachute that can successfully carry an egg and land it without cracking the egg. First we investigated different materials, testing which were the most effective. We tested tin foil, tissue paper, cling film, bubble wrap, plastic bags and other materials. Each material was chosen and a parachute created. They were then tested and timed how long they took to reach the ground. Next we will be investigating different sized parachutes and testing which is the most effective.
5,4,3,2,1,Lift off! Today was the day we dropped our parachutes from our classroom to see if they safely landed without cracking the egg. We had so much fun dropping them. Dearg and gorm were successful and their eggs landed safely. We had a few scrambled eggs! Well done to all.
